Joe Falcinelli AKA Baker Joe
is a visual artist, certified baker, educator, and graphic designer. Joe has sold hundreds of pieces of art nationwide and his works have hung in numerous showings at galleries and art fairs all over the Mid-west. Joe has also been dabbling in graphic design, designing logos, flyers, shirts, business cards, and posters for all his old bands. Along with visual arts and graphic design, Joe is a certified baker through the Retail Bakers Association of America, with over a decade of baking experience.
Typically, Baker Joe enjoys using recycled, found, and/or donated materials, to create vibrant, colorful pieces of wall art. His vinyl record wall clocks are made from discarded records that are then painted by hand and fitted with clock movements. Joe also works with recycled windows, wood panels, street signs, and other random materials to create his works. Using layers of bold colors and various painting techniques he creates an abstract background to begin his piece. Joe then sketches and hand-cuts images into stencils that are then applied over the painting. Joe deconstructs and reconstructs his images by using negative spaces and abstract shapes to simplify the piece while still giving the piece depth. By using vibrant colors and various spray techniques he has developed an artistic style that is a mixture of pop, abstract, and graffiti-style art.
